How To Podcast With Us
Podcast Planet is about sharing — ideas, laughs, even the coin we make through ads and other sponsorships. There are 3 ways to podcast with us:
- Produce And Publish Elsewhere: Many podcasts on our site are recorded and hosted elsewhere and simply retransmitted here using the original RSS feed. Since they don’t promote our sponsors (any ads you hear are from the original production), we don’t make any money off them. These retransmitted podcasts simply enjoy the additional exposure Podcast Planet provides.
- Produce Elsewhere, Publish With Podcast Planet: Some podcasters record and edit their own podcasts. They simply send us their podcast files to be published here, meaning we host it, promote it, and insert ads from sponsors we find. In these cases, the podcaster retains 100% ownership of their podcast, but give us exclusive rights to publish it for 12 months. In return, they share 50/50 in any ad revenue their podcast generates, after we recoup $300/episode of our hosting and marketing expenses.
- Produce And Publish With Podcast Planet: Some podcasters want us to do all the heavy lifting. They record in our L.A. studio with our production team, and we host it, promote it, and insert ads from sponsors we find. Since we’re producing the podcast, we own the copyright. In exchange, the podcaster shares 50/50 in any ad revenue their podcast generates, after we recoup $900/episode of our expenses (studio time, engineering, production guidance, hosting, etc.).
If you’re interested in being part of Podcast Planet, simply fill out our contact form by describing your podcast in detail, providing a link to a sample hosted elsewhere, and stating which of the 3 above options you prefer. We will send you a complete agreement for you to review and sign.
Note that Podcast Planet reserves the right to decline any submission for any reason. We explicitly do not publish podcasts that contain copyrighted material used without permission, such as music; hate speech or defamatory podcasts that attack or threaten an individual or group of people; podcasts that are simply long ads; or podcasts with technical quality that falls below our standards. If we do decline a podcast, we will provide recommendations on how to make it right for Podcast Planet.
